Swift 232 is named for Joseph M. Kitagawa, who was a faculty member from 1951-1980, serving as dean for the last 10 years of his tenure at the Divinity School. Professor Kitagawa is considered one of the founders of the field of the History of Religions. His library now serves as a sought-after space to hold classes, meetings and events.
