These cases were kept for years in Room 403 and contained various objects associated with the study of the New Testament and Early Christian literature at the Divinity School. In 2024 they were moved to the entry of Swift, where they were home to Secondhand Sacred, a research project and exhibition in the critical study of religion that focuses on Christian material culture’s circulation through secondhand economies. These cases will remain central to Swift Hall’s growing role as a space for the display and study of art and objects associated with religion.
